Frequently Asked Questions
Following are many of the questions we get mostly frequently about Delphis.
Is there a current survey of the boat?
A condition and value survey was completed at the end of November 2010.
What is the asking price for Delphis?
Based on the surveyor's recommendation, we are asking $130K.
Are there any soft spots in the core of the boat?
There are no soft spots that we are aware of. It is fiberglass with a balsam core, which is quite typical.
What is the status of the teak decks?
There are the original teak decks in the aft section, cockpit, and on part of the bow. We removed the teak from bow working area because it had been sanded over the years and the screw heads were beginning to show. Took it off to also test the core for soft spots. There was nonskid under that teak which is in good condition. At one time we were going to replace the teak and glue it down without screws. We have had mixed comments on that and some people like just the nonskid and others would like to see the teak replaced. At this point, we plan to leave that up to the next owner.
Is there a generator on the boat?
No.
What is the condition of the engine?
Excellent. The engine was totally reconditioned in the fall of 2010 with a new water pump, fuel filter, hoses, fittings, etc.
What is the condition of the spruce masts?
The masts are in excellent shape with numberous coats of fresh varnish applied last fall.
What is the condition of the sails?
The sails – main, mizzen, head and jib – and sail covers are all in good condition.
What about the bottom of the boat?
The bottom is in excellent condition with a fresh coat of black paint.

There is an attractive, new electric refrigerator under the pilot station in the main salon. There is also a refrigerator in the galley that runs off the engine or shore power.
Is there an autopilot?
